About Behpak
Behpak Industrial Company is a long-established Iranian oilseed processor and plant-protein manufacturer whose operations date back to 1968 in Behshahr, Mazandaran Province. The company subsequently became publicly held and its shares are now traded on Iran Fara Bourse under the ticker BHPZ (بهپاک). Its core activities centre on oilseed processing, oil extraction and the manufacture of soy-based ingredients and food products.
Behpak's production portfolio includes crude soybean and canola oils, oilseed meals, textured soy protein, toasted and untoasted soy flour, food-grade and industrial lecithin, and other derivatives of oilseed processing. These products serve two distinct markets. Bulk ingredients and industrial formats are supplied to food manufacturers and other professional customers, while packaged soy protein reaches household consumers through brands including Sobhan, Sobhan Talaei, Avin, Totak and Behpak.
The company's industrial structure allows several stages of the soybean and oilseed value chain to be managed within the same manufacturing operation—from oil extraction and the separation of crude oil and meal to the further processing of soy flour and meal into textured proteins and other derivatives. Behpak is also continuing to expand its plant-protein capabilities, with new soy-protein projects under development at its Behshahr manufacturing site.
From a manufacturing perspective, the significance of this model lies in extracting several different value streams from the same agricultural raw material. Soybeans are not simply an oil source: their protein, oil and phospholipid fractions can be converted into products with very different functional and commercial applications. Extraction efficiency, meal quality, appropriate heat treatment, protein functionality and lecithin recovery therefore influence both product performance and overall processing economics. Behpak's operating model is built around managing this interconnected value chain and converting oilseeds into multiple product streams for industrial and consumer markets.
