About NESCAFÉ
NESCAFÉ is Nestlé’s coffee brand, first introduced in Switzerland in 1938. Its origins trace back to a project to preserve Brazil’s surplus coffee harvest. Coffee specialist Max Morgenthaler and his research team developed an instant coffee that could be prepared by adding water while retaining the character of coffee’s aroma and flavour.
Over the following decades, NESCAFÉ expanded beyond its original instant coffee into a broader range of coffee products. The development of the Gold family, coffee mixes and cappuccino provided consumers with different flavour profiles and preparation options. Convenient preparation and product variety remain central to the brand’s offering.
The range presented by Nestlé Iran includes NESCAFÉ Gold and Red Mug instant coffees, Classic, Strong and Creamy coffee mixes, 2in1 and Cappuccino. Gold and Red Mug offer instant coffee for straightforward preparation, while the mixed products combine coffee with additional ingredients to create different levels of sweetness and creaminess.
NESCAFÉ’s presence in Iran includes local manufacturing and packaging activities through Nestlé Iran. In 2021, the company announced the introduction of locally packaged NESCAFÉ Gold. Its official Iranian catalogue also identifies Red Mug as a Nestlé Brazil product packaged by Nestlé Iran. The brand’s activities in the Iranian market therefore connect international sourcing with local production and packaging operations.
