About SAHAR
Sahar is an Iranian packaged food brand whose origins lie in Hamedan, where Sahar Food Industries was established in 1991 by Masoud Toutounchian. Commercial production began in 1994. Built around the processing of agricultural produce, the business initially developed its tomato paste production and subsequently expanded into a broader range of packaged foods.
The Sahar portfolio includes tomato and pomegranate pastes, mayonnaise and salad dressings, ketchup and flavoured sauces, pickled cucumbers and vegetables, canned beans and vegetables, fruit compotes, jams and honey. Together, these categories serve a range of everyday uses, from cooking and salad preparation to breakfast and table accompaniments. Products are offered in glass jars, cans, bottles and individual portions, with pack formats suited to different consumption needs.
The brand’s development has been supported by related businesses operating across production, processing, packaging and distribution. Alvand Yaran Sahar, the group’s trading and distribution company, supplies products through retail distribution, supermarket chains, regional representatives and hospitality channels serving hotels, restaurants and cafés. Larger pack sizes complement the range intended for household use.
International expansion also forms part of Sahar’s history. A sales branch opened in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq, in 2006, followed by the company’s first export shipment to the United Kingdom in 2008. Agricultural processing, a diversified product range and the development of distribution channels remain central to Sahar’s identity within Iran’s food industry.
