Tarvand Qaenat Saffron Agricultural & Production Group, as the first processing, packaging, and exporting unit of saffron, was established concurrent with the first National Saffron Festival in November 2002. This unit is located at the heart of beautiful Qaenat saffron farms in Qaenat County.

South Khorasan province is ideal for saffron cultivation with its hot, dry climate, average rainfall, and suitable air humidity. Farmers use traditional methods to improve soil and combat pests, producing saffron with unique aroma, flavor, and organic properties. Tarvand Saffron processing unit is located in Qaenat County’s county industrial park. It is known as the saffron production hub of Iran. Proximity to agricultural farms and villages minimizes product transportation time, exerting the least physical, chemical, and microbial effects on products.

Agricultural products are sent to the Tarvand unit, where, after quality control and necessary tests, they undergo the best sorting, processing, drying, and packaging procedures. These processes are swiftly conducted, and high-quality products with unique tastes are offered to the market. Over 2000 saffron farming households across different regions are members of the Tarvand Saffron Group, cultivating saffron through training and correct scientific methods. Using proper tools and equipment and the farmers’ experience has produced premium quality saffron with superior properties.
