Mazmaz’s story started with the establishment of the first industrial plant for potato chip production in Iran in 1991. The founder of Mazmaz was concerned about the harmful effects of traditional chip production methods. In traditional methods, oil was used to fry potato slices, producing fatty acids and making the oil reach the smoke point. These methods caused various health issues for consumers. The Ministry of Health was also concerned about consumers’ health related to these products. Therefore, Mazmaz sought to produce healthy and safe chips. For the first time, it managed to produce healthy chips. But the main challenge was where to supply suitable potatoes. Because farmers needed access to proper seeds for chip production, available potato seeds also did not yield good products. Therefore, new seeds were imported, which brought about positive transformations in regional agriculture. Over the 30 years of Mazmaz activity, a valuable chain from farms to production has formed.

The focus of Maz Maz group throughout the history of this brand has been the production of various corn and potato-based snacks.
