Zar Fructose is Zar Group’s specialist brand for corn refining and industrial ingredients. Its operations have developed within Zar Grain Refinery, in association with Farhikhtegan Zarnam Industrial and Research Group. Planning for the refinery began in 2010, and its first phase entered operation in December 2015. The business focuses on converting corn into sweeteners, starches and derivatives used by food manufacturers, pharmaceutical producers and other industrial customers.
The portfolio includes glucose and fructose syrups, crystalline fructose, maltodextrin, dextrose monohydrate and anhydrous dextrose, native starch and modified starches. Cold-process and hot-process food starches, pregelatinised starch and industrial starches form distinct product groups. This range extends the business beyond sweeteners to ingredients used to develop texture and consistency. Products are differentiated by their applications and technical characteristics, making the portfolio relevant to industrial purchasing teams as well as research, development and production departments.
Zar Fructose serves manufacturers of beverages, confectionery, dairy products, ice cream, bakery goods, sauces and processed foods. Selected products also serve pharmaceutical, fermentation and other industrial applications. Ingredient selection in these markets involves more than sweetness: liquid or powder format, processing behaviour and formulation requirements also matter. The company’s sales structure reflects these differences, with specialist teams covering areas such as beverages, dairy, starch and pharmaceutical products.

The refinery’s corn-processing operations also produce co-products, including corn gluten meal, corn gluten feed and corn germ meal, for the animal feed supply chain. Located in Alborz Province, the complex has access to the railway network as part of its raw-material handling and transport infrastructure. Within this production system, Zar Fructose connects grain sourcing with downstream manufacturing, supplying ingredients that other businesses use in their finished products. Its role spans sweeteners and starch derivatives for food production, alongside materials used in pharmaceutical and other industrial value chains.
