A leader in the production of dairy products, including milk, yogurt, and cream, Pegah is among the most successful Iranian brands. For many years, Pegah has played a significant role in quality production, and now, in addition to satisfying the needs of the domestic market, it also exports. Pegah Company did not achieve this level of success and fame overnight. Like any other brand, this group also had its own ups and downs that we will discuss.
The Pegah Holding, also called Tehran Pasteurized Milk Factory, was the first milk production and packaging factory in Iran, which was established in 1954 by the Ministry of Health and UNICEF to provide quality dairy products to the people and develop the livestock industry in Iran. This factory was officially inaugurated in 1957 and, in its early years of operation, managed to produce and supply 4,800 kilograms of pasteurized and healthy milk to the public. It has been one of the main pillars of pasteurized milk and other dairy production in Iran ever since.
Pegah Company, established in Iran by UNICEF and at the request of the Ministry of Health, is a private joint stock company that, after the revolution and in 1979, by the decree of the Islamic Revolutionary Council, merged with seven other milk production factories in Iran. Today, it is the country’s largest industrial company producing pasteurized milk. Pegah Company is currently owned by its board of directors, whose two main directors are Eskandar Eskandari and Abdul Amir Barootkoob. The vice chairmen of the board are Mohammad Ali Kargar Motlagh, Hassan Zonouzi, and Gholamreza Zeynali.
With 29 active branches in 13 provinces across the country, Pegah Holding targets optimal and proper use of resources as its primary goal and vision for the future in order to continue being a pioneer in dairy production in Iran’s market and become one of the largest industrial companies in the Middle East. To achieve this goal, in addition to upgrading its fleet of vehicles for transporting its products across the country, Pegah Company has been recognized as a green and national industry, has improved the quality and taste of its products for export, and by leveraging domestic resources, has expanded production lines and launched new products.
People may know that pasteurized milk, chocolate milk, breakfast cheese, and cream are the main products of the Pegah food industries. Still, this large and successful group also has other dairy products, such as:
